And just like that, balance is restored.

After being extremely pissed off today, the universe has gone and balanced things out. So much so, that I owe the universe. Big time.

Retail Therapy

Today I have bought:

  • Call of Duty 4
  • Planet Hulk Omnibus
  • Superman Returns
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey
  • Girls Aloud: Tangled Up

Overall I’m pleased. I’ve been holding off buying CoD4 because I tend not to buy full price games, but I couldn’t see a price drop any time soon, and fancied something action packed and pretty looking.

As for the DVDs, Superman Returns although not a great film, was enjoyable at the cinema, and only £3 in the HMV sale so I could hardly refuse. 2001 I have never seen, and after seeing clips recently on Film 2008 and a review (all in aid of the Blu-Ray/HDDVD re-release) in SFX, decided to pick it up, just £5.

Planet Hulk was a good find. Where I live is quite limited comics wise. There’s Waterstones, and that’s it. And they only have one of those rotating book shelves that stocks the mainstream stuff (which is fine, I do like mainstream). I think there must be someone that works there that purposely sneaks in something in for me to find, I do check most weekends, and I saw today Planet Hulk. A month or so back I picked up World War Hulk and I quite liked it, and this Planet Hulk is a nice and thick book, probably the thickest graphic novel I’ve got now, and only £14.99.

That just leaves Girls Aloud. Yes I know, not the kind of music you might associate with a sci-fi fan, but I do like pop music and I really like Girls Aloud. Yes, for their music!

This should all keep me occupied over the weekend!

Hello world!

Hello!

Decided to start a blog for the umpteenth time. No real reason, just wanted to see how good WordPress is.

Plans for the weekend include: The first Open Mic night at The Carps tomorrow, Lost on Sunday night, possible trip to the cinema and if I’m REALLY bored, some OU work.
